Trend to Try : Neck Scarf

Hey guys!

Spring is finally in full swing! (yep lame rhyme 😉 ) Hope you ya’ll enjoyed your Easter weekend stuffing your faces with delicious Easter candy and treats! It was tough but I stuck with my Whole 30 and enjoyed me some nice bananas, cacao, and almond butter (but no seriously ya’ll its EXCEPTIONALLY delicious! Matts mom was so sweet and made sure that I had great options to eat on Easter! I’ll post the recipe to the end of this post. Lets talk clothes first! Neck scarves or ties (whatever you choose to call them) you’ve all seen them! Just maybe in different places, neck scarves/ties are everywhere this spring and for very good reason(s)!

First and foremost these babies are popping up everywhere because they are so versatile! You can wear them around your neck, in your hair, and on any purse! Secondly they can dress up any outfit in and instant!Any piece that I can just throw on and feel put together is a complete win in my book! Thirdly while its great that its is no longer cold outside and we don’t have to worry about layers, it can also feel like our outfits get a bit boring! To easily add a little character to a plain old tee and some jeans, throw on a neck scarf and you instantly have just the right amount of flair!  Lastly they are timeless. One of my software engineering co-workers so graciously pointed out this fact when he asked if I was trying to be a 60’s flight attendant (LOL!) While this might not have been the greatest delivery of a compliment it definitely shows that they have stood the test of time!

I styled my absolute favorite scarf here with one of my all time favorite high low tops from StyleWe. Funny story while we were in between shooting looks I got out of my car and this scarf flew up in the air (there were 25mph gust that day!). You better know I ran down the street in heels hoping it would come back into my possession.  Nope – up and over it went to one of the only fenced in areas in the entire West Bottoms and landed softly on some gravel next to a beat up old semi (insert sad face emoji). None of the surrounding stores were open and while I was sad I also couldn’t help but laugh at the comedy of the situation! Here’s when you know you really love something…… you rush home and check online to find another scarf. Unfortunately they are only sold in stores (found mine at H&M) here is some similar ones: here, here  , and here  ) So I went back to the mall  and was RELIEVED to find they still had a few left! (disaster overted!

Whole 30 Flourless Brownie Recipe

Okay just a big disclaimer here Whole 30 does not want you to have dessert, or even snack for that matter. But the human came out in me and when everyone else is having delicous desserts that mix alcohol with ice cream, and I had dessert and it was FANTASTIC!

Ingredients:

1-2 bananas (depending on how bananay you like things)

2 tbs cacao

2 tbs almond butter

Mash banana then mix in the cacao and almond butter. Pop in the microwave for 45 seconds and ya’ll you will not be disappointed !!!

Thank you all so much for reading, it truly means the world to me!

  1. Sad day!! I’m so glad you found another one because it’s so cute! I’ve been really trying to work with scarves more and I’m sometimes successful. They aren’t always the right size for what I want to do, but I love how you tied this one. So cute!

    1. Omg Virginia I wish you could have seen me chasing that thing down! I’m sure I looked hysterical running down the street arms stretched with my eye on the prize! HAH! Just find a smaller square one, fold it in half (so its like a triangle) and then just slowly fold the triangle from its base to its point. Then wrap around your neck, you got this girl! Heres a helpful video! : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmobDym3WZ8

      1. Lol, I can imagine! When you find the perfect accessory and then it gets whisked away…terrible! I would run it down too! Thanks for the video! So helpful! It looks like I have one that’s the right size, I just need to loop it around my neck more times! Whohoo! Trying this today! (Thanks again!)

    1. Thanks Jill! The detailing on the shirt is probably my favorite part about it! Hope you have a great weekend!
